Please join Captain John Thibeault and crew for a 2-hour sail on Saco Bay and the 8 islands of its ocean waters aboard the 37’ "restored wooden ketch rig" vintage sailing yacht ‘Lodesterre’, built by Maine Hall of Fame Boat Builder Roy C. Blaney, of Boothbay Harbor. Passengers enjoy a relaxing sail cruising past picturesque islands, Wood Island Lighthouse, seals, an occasional pod of porpoises, or even a whale have many times been seen.
Captain John has a wealth of knowledge about Saco Bay and the islands. (since John grew up in Saco Bay and his grandfather was a boat builder) If you ask, I am sure he would love to share that history with you.
Two-hour cruises are scheduled daily, weather permitting, to depart at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. from the Saco Pier in Camp Ellis at the mouth of the Saco River. ‘Lodesterre’ accommodates up to 6 passengers.
Reservations for a custom cruise can be made by calling John at 207-776-0123. Sail with family and friends and smell the sea air while enjoying the wind, water, and sun. We gladly let you take the helm if you want to sail ‘Lodesterre’.
